| The 2012 Publix Super Markets Gasparilla Distance Classic Race Weekend, presented by Sports Authority, offers a "distance race and event for everyone," from infants in baby joggers to both competitive and recreational runners and walkers. Featuring a 5 + 3K (8K), 5K, Half Marathon, Michelob Ultra Challenge, Beck's Light Challenge and the brand new Mini Challenge. Course Description
Basically, Florida has no hills. What they have is heat. The Tampa Bay and causeways offer cooling air off their waters and some shady spots, with watering holes along the course staying busy. Bringing a bladder is a good idea. There is no shortage of spectators along the entire 15k course, and no shortage of fun.
