| Nancy Brinker promised her dying sister Susan G. Komen that she would do everything possible to find a cure for breast cancer. She made true on that promise. In 1982 the Susan G. Komen movement began, and the now iconic pink ribbon is it's symbol around the world. Among the fundraising events are thousands of relay races/walks for a cure held in nearly every major city in the U.S. As part of this series the Komen Global Race for the Cure takes place in Washington DC. | |
