As the name suggests, it's a point-to-point 10K organized by Joan Benoit Samuelson for her hometown. Starts near Crescent Beach State Park and finishes at Portland Head Lighthouse in Fort Williams Park. The course has a number of hills so doesn't seem to be easy but often times for elite runners are very fast and many runners are said to PR at the race.

Notes: The race is limited to less than 7,000 runners with 600 opened up for local folks first followed by 4000 general entry, followed by a lottery for 1900 additional general entry spots. The remainder is for elites and other special invitation. I understand the general entry opens at 7 am on a Friday morning and the 4000 slots are gone within a few minutes. Weather was humid (mid 90%) but otherwise near ideal-overcast with temps in 60's and light winds. Hoped to do better but minor nagging physical issues and/or carrying more weight from celebrating my daughter's wedding kept me on the high side of 40 minutes. Still an 88.31% age graded performance isn't too shabby.
