This is my race. My nemesis and my PR. In 1985 I did not train, gave blood 3 days prior, and DNF'd this race and never attempted another marathon until 2013. I ran Oakland that year in 4:17 and PR'd San Francisco in 3:58 and I'm now an SF marathon ambassador. One real hill from Crissy Field up to the Golden Gate bridge. Great course. Great support. Oh yeah!!!
