| Fitness Statement | I was diagnosed with MS in 1990 and spent almost a year in a wheelchair. Once I got rid of the wheels, it seemed compulsory to keep searching for new challenges, looking for a "home". In 2007 my oldest daughter came to KC to run the KC Marathon. While being a part of her support team I caught the "bug" and found my fitness "home". Watching the faces of the runners approaching the finish line I knew I wanted whatever it was that put "that look" on their faces. Celebrating my 55th birthday by running my first 5K, the "bug" bit me and I have since completed 26 half marathons and 4 marathons as well as a spattering of 5 and 10 K's. |
