I've been terrible about keeping my profile here updated. I've run TONS of half marathons, 10Ks and have done tons of training. Just been incredibly busy but for some reason I thought about Ujena tonight and the movie A Long Run (where I am featured.) I will try to keep my runs here updated. I just ran a 10K on June 7th and I'm running a half marathon in October.....so....it's all good.
Running the Color Run San Francisco this Saturday. Also running the Hook & Ladder 10K again in Pleasanton, plus the See Jane Run half marathon in Alameda. We are definitely going to run more races but haven't decided which one yet. Can't wait for Saturday!!!
I'm a little more than halfway into my half marathon training schedule. I am running my first half on October 6th 2013 in San Jose. The Rock and Roll. It should be so fun. I'm running it with my 3 running buddies. We have run many races together and during our last 10K while on a runner's high we all agreed to sign up for this half marathon. Today I ran 10 miles without stopping so now I am confident I can complete the race. I am sticking to this training schedule like glue because it is working. :)
Preparing for my first 10K on June 2nd in Pleasanton (home of my first 5K through Bob's Double Road Race.) I am running the Rave Run in Silicon Valley with my kids May 11th, then the Hook and Ladder 10K, and then a 5K called See Jane Run. I will continue this journey throughout the year. A very fun way to stay fit. :)
I have never run a 5k before so this Sunday will be my first time. Is it ok to train the day before or should I rest? Also, should I dress for warmth or will I warm up fast?
I've been running every single day for the past few weeks even while having a cold and traveling. I am able to run the complete 5K now which is a huge accomplishment for me. lol I never thought I would get to this point. It seemed to take forever and I was never feeling like running was that much fun but once I got to the point in my app where I was running 10 minutes and walking for 1 minute , it started to feel really good. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get that far in the app. The turning point is definitely running for longer periods of time and letting those endorphins kick in. Plus the feeling of "I can do this!" I'm looking forward to my first 5K this coming Sunday the 23rd!! Should be fun.
I've been preparing for the Double 5K in Pleasanton this coming December. I feel in fairly good shape. I am alternating running 3 times per week with 3 days of weights or yoga. I don't think the race will be a problem and I am really looking forward to it. My niece is going to run with me.
Today I ran about 3 and a half miles and it felt good!!
Did a 3 mile run in addition to lifting weights. Worked my entire upper body. Everything took about 1 1/2 hours. It felt great!!
Been in Tahoe for a few weeks. Mostly did bike rides, but now I am back to running and working out. Today did Jillian Michaels. Yesterday ran 2 miles. I am looking for a 5K to sign up for, sometime in the Fall to have time to prepare.
