Fitness Statement | Fitness is a way of life. If you don't embrace it, desire it, yearn for it, struggle through, learn about yourself then you won't appreciate it. The human body is so remarkable and adaptable. It is meant to be worked and depreciates very quickly when sedentary. |
Quote | “When in doubt run it out!” |
Running Achievements | All happened so long ago but formed my current work ethic that is applied in all areas of my life. I'm not a gifted athlete but work hard to achieve my goals. When I compete I come to win and always learn something from winning and most importantly from losing. It more about competing within myself now than competing against someone else. |

Today was an active recovery day so just rode an easy 20 miles in just over an hour or so. Still a little windy here in SoCal this afternoon but was able to get it done outside. Yeah, just a little tired and sore after yesterday.
4 hours out on the bike this morning. Ouch! Believe it or not only my neck hurts. Supposed to get windy here tomorrow so we shall see what's in store.
I nice 2 hour ride today in beautiful weather here in SoCal. Got in around 35 miles and actually through in some intervals for good measure. I think I'm starting to remember how to ride a bike. What's next?
Another windy day here in SoCal! Got out there and did an easy 25miles/1.5hr active recovery ride. Still a bit fatigued but should be fully recovered by tomorrow.
Okay, I've not posted here in recent weeks but made a 2012 resolution I will do much better in posting my workouts here. So to get caught up I was out on the road bike for 3 hours (55 miles) on New Years Day! Yeah, nothing tastes better than oatmeal and scotch on the rebound. lol Yesterday I was 3.5 hours on the mountain bike and suffered the entire day. Took a nice header over the handlebars so have a stiff neck today.
Today is a full rest and recovery day as I've been out on the bike 8 of the last 9 days. Felt good to sleep in with 11 hours in the sack! Playing catchup with everything else now.
Another grueling 2.5 hours/40+ miles on the bike. Lots of hills, wind and cooler temps today. Felt fairly strong out there today but my neck hurt more than anything. Felt great to get home and jump in the hot shower. Almost dinner time now.
The winds finally calmed down a bit so headed out on one of my favorite bike routes. There are 3 major climbs over 3 miles each with some steep ramps at 12-18%. Today was all about finding a comfortable pace and then retreating to within yourself and getting in that special zone. Had a nice tailwind coming home so that was nice. Total ride time was 2hr20min and about 35 miles.
Well the Santa Anna winds hit really hard last night and into today so not possible to ride in 40mph gusts. So I was stuck on the indoor trainer doing Tour de Garage for 90 minutes which is all my mind could take. Yeah, the iPod was dead so just had to listen to the whirring of the fan.
This morning I got out there before it got too hot and ran 4 miles in just a few seconds over 30 minutes. I think the running is getting a little easier and hopefully soon I can increase the mileage a bit. Only had one tiny snickers bar for Halloween.
I had a great bike ride today. A short 25 miles but I much to my surprise I felt great after yesterdays tough day in the saddle.
