I have been running on and off since I was 8. I ran cross country in school, but it wasn't until I started doing the Ujena Jams that I really got back into it. I enjoyed the Ujena events so much I decided to train for a marathon. I have run several marathons, and half marathons. My best Half marathon time was 1:58:23. My best marathon time was 4:41:27. I am now working on speed and my goal is to finish the Bob Anderson 15K Challenge Cabo in under 1:20:00. The best advice I ever got was "In order to run faster, you have to run faster" ~ Bob Anderson

Did weights and ran 4 miles this am. Had a hard time running (I have bronchitis again). This has really been a damper on my running :( just when I get my times down I seem to get hit with another bout and then I can't run. I ran the 4 miles in 34:57.
On the bright side I am still running faster then I was in my 20's

Over in Catalina today. Took advantage of the steep inclines getting back up to our place. Last year this time I couldn't even walk it, but here I am cruising on up :)
You are getting in running shape... Bob Anderson 4/22/12 5:41 am

Great day today! Had an awesome speed workout on the treadmill. My friend and ironman competitor did up my running program for my up coming 15k. I am either going to get much better or drop dead!! She's tough!!!

Well, it has been months of ups and downs, but today someone said to me "at least you're moving"! Yes I am!! I may be slower than I would like, but I am out there doing it! :D Jodi Labossiere 10/1/13 8:05 am
OK, went to the doctor this am, and I can give running a try starting Monday. So, any suggestions on how to ease back into this so I don't mess it up? Jodi Labossiere 11/30/12 1:17 pmJodi, the abiding secret to coming back it to do way less at the beginning and make sure everything is okay. After several weeks if all is okay, you can ramp up. Once when recovering from Achilles' tendonitis my first run was one minute. A month later I was running over 50 mpw. Richard Stiller 12/2/12 2:26 pm How the training coming along? Is the ankle back 100% Bob Anderson 12/9/12 6:18 am I am about 60% :( I was able to run a full mile today ( first time). I don't know if I will be able to run the entire double but I am going to try ( at least run/ walk). Jodi Labossiere 12/10/12 3:41 pm Jodi, now that you are 60%...you should upload a new more positive shot...don't you think? See you in Pleasanton...you have run more Doubles than any female in the world...don't over do it in Pleasanton! Bob Anderson 12/11/12 10:38 am I didn't realize that was my lead photo... I am going to ease back into everything. In the long run I can come back stronger. Jodi Labossiere 12/11/12 11:34 am
Well crap! I took my dog for a walk last night and twisted my ankle ( my steak has ended). It is still really swollen, and a little black and blue. I have been icing, and it is elevated, but does anyone have suggestions that could make this go faster :( Jodi Labossiere 11/8/12 3:45 pmI had this problem for years. Ice and elevation is the answer. There is no quicker way to heal. Not that really works. Let it heal and then begin your new "steak". Richard Stiller 11/9/12 7:57 am Sorry to hear this Jodi...and you were walking your dog! not even running! Take care of it...you will bounce back!!!! Bob Anderson 11/9/12 9:43 am
It was already 86 degrees by the time I got out for my run. I am hoping that if I go out during the hottest times during the day I will acclimate easier when we get to Cabo :) did my 5 miles in 40:38 Jodi Labossiere 8/13/12 10:19 am
All week long I have been doing almost exactly the same time on my 5K (Literally within a second or two)... very strange, I think I am picking up the pace and then there I am at 23:07 again... Any suggestions? Jodi Labossiere 6/2/12 9:31 amSee that you are running several 5ks in a row during the week. You may want to do some shorter and faster paced runs during the week to get the feel of a little faster tempo. Maybe something along the lines of 4 x 880 at 3:30-3:35 with a 440 very slow recover between each. Looks like you have a pretty good base of mileage from your workout posts so something like this workout each week will build a little more cardio capability and get your more used to that faster tempo. Barry Anderson 6/2/12 1:37 pm
A check for $100.00 arrived from the Ujena Fit Club! All I did was post my workouts! THANK YOU!! I officially joined the South Coast Road runners last night! I did a 4.5 mile run with the group last night. they run 3 times a week (Mon, Thurs, Sat). This is what I have been needing! There are about 60 members at all different levels. Last night I was able to push myself! It really makes a difference to run with other people :) Jodi Labossiere 4/6/12 9:07 amIt is good to run with other people. Sounds like you have found a good group.
