Struggling with Achilles strain. Any words of wisdom?
Sorry to hear about that (as a fellow Achilles injuree). Tendonitis or tendinopathy? The approach depends on what you are dealing with. And both courses of action always come with the suggestion to identify the cause and prevent it happening again.
Wendy Roberts 3/18/14 5:56 pm Sorry to hear that. I pulled mine twice and rest really helped although it makes for a frustrated runner. Have you used a roller?
3/19/14 11:28 am Achilles problems are the worse. I have had many issues over the years. I know that Wendy had to deal with it for a long time. But now she is back running very well. At times it seems like it is never going to go away and then it is gone...at least that is what happen with me a couple of years back. I put inserts in my walking around shoes which I know helped...
Bob Anderson 3/19/14 12:17 pm Thanks for the feedback. I've been increasing the rolling and stretching, trying to rest. inserts seem to be helping. It's difficult to have patience with this!
Steven Miller 3/19/14 9:54 pm Words of wisdom: Stop stretching it. It's like you are stretching a frayed rope. Ice, rest, heel lifts (temporarily).
